Help MERA25 Get on the Ballot for the German National Elections

Urgent! Due to the early snap elections, we now have just one month to collect as many signatures as we would typically gather in nine months (approximately 2,000 per federal state). We need everyone to pitch in!

Why sign? Your signature shows that you want MERA25 to appear on the ballot. It does NOT mean you are committing to vote for MERA25. More options on the ballot are good for democracy, especially when established parties have become unelectable on certain issues.

How to Help:

  1. Every region has its own unique form. Please select your region here:
  2. Download the form. Print it double-sided and complete all fields except for the section at the bottom “Bescheinigung des Wahlrechtes” [Certificate of eligibility to vote], which will be filled out by the authorities. Be sure to write legibly in block or uppercase letters so your form is valid.
  3. Gather additional signatures. Print extra forms and ask family, friends, or acquaintances who are eligible voters in Germany to sign. Every signature counts!
  4. Send the completed forms by 10 December to: (please choose a city above). Our volunteers will handle the rest.

Thank you for your support!

If you’d like to contribute further, we would welcome your donation to our campaign. More information about our platform can be found on German Elections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to vote for MERA25 if I sign?

No. Many people sign simply to ensure that alternatives to the established parties are on the ballot. Your voting decision remains private, and signing does not commit you to vote for us.

Do MERA25 or DiEM25 members also need to sign?

Yes. Oddly, the election authority doesn’t assume that all party members want their party on the ballot, so we still need signatures from our own members.

Can I sign if I’m a member of another party?

Absolutely! Parties already represented in German parliament don’t need to collect signatures, so their members can help us qualify to run.

Can I sign if I have already signed for another party in the 2025 German National Election?

Unfortunately, no. You can only sign for one party and one direct candidate per election.

What happens to my data? Will I receive newsletters or promotional material?

No. We send your completed forms directly to the relevant authorities and do not store your data. The authorities destroy the forms after the election. If you’d like updates from us, you can sign up for our newsletter, become a member, or email us directly. Please understand that our small volunteer team may take longer to respond during election season.

What happens with the signature after I have signed?

The form is submitted to your city’s registry or election office, where they verify and stamp your eligibility to vote. After that, the forms are sent to the election authority of your federal state for the final count.

Can I submit my signed form online or scan it and email it to you?

No, unfortunately not. In Germany, this process still requires physical paper forms. The forms explicitly state “personal and handwritten signature,” meaning we need the original document.
